Memory .. a strange thing ..
14 Nov
Been a while eh, well i am posting again. Reason ? perhaps .. for memory, to remember my journey since coming to Japan. Actually today, i remembered a lot of things, things of the past. Things like songs, birthday , sites i joined, pictures i uploaded on internet that i had forgotten about, the way i used to write my sentences. I even found my old Japanese writing , when i first started learning Japanese and how gradually i improved. majority of these things are all floating in the internet still, i was surprised to see them but made me realize how fast time has passed and how far i have come on my journey. A journey that started as a kid , when i used to wake up late night watching anime (cartoon ) shows on a channel i believe called TNT perhaps. And here i am in Japan, doing what i always dreamed about. Working in a Japanese company , making games , living life and exploring here and there with new friends i have made here in Japan.
So how and when did this memory of the past click . It was actually as of this morning, while working on my project. I was looking on youtube for music to listen to while i work. Then i saw a video trailer , and i remembered “wait .. a minute.. i remember using that clip for a music video i had made when i was 18 perhaps. I wish i had uploaded those videos and things i had done during that age. But i am happy for the pictures etc that i did upload from back then. Some of these will be basically family pictures, others would be from my first time taking part in a exhibition in Toronto called ” Anime North ” . Anyways here are the pictures, music and things of the past. I really do cherish and like these kind of nostalgic things.
First is Music , so you can listen to it while browsing through my memory lane. This music is a childhood memory for me and maybe for you as well.

(song: Wham! – Last Christmas)
During Christmas time my Dad would always play this music or even at my grandparents place or at my cousins place in Ranchi. And for some reason today, i just had this natural feeling of wanting to listen to this music. I know its not Christmas yet but i do like this song a lot.
Next Picture time ! Some of these pictures , have titles/ names that i had written during that time of upload. Looking at these pictures, I am just questioning my creativity for titles .. and it hasn’t changed. But amusing never the less ..
Playing DDR in the basement of my house in Canada.
I had written ” weeee tramplene ” i think i meant to write trampoline …
friends from kuwait
I remember the time of taking this picture, because when i was taking this picture . I said to myself , trampoline is for kids.
So how old was i , when i said that …. 17 ? 18?
No , i don’t think till this day, i have ever eaten and played ddr at the same time. maybe i should ..
One of my favorite magazine, i used to buy tons of them whenever i would visit a anime exhibition , held once a year.
I remember drawing this picture, almost vividly. Probably because i was sitting there staring at my cousin for 1hr while drawing and thinking to myself , i hope he likes it. And from that day, i never drew another portrait drawing…again
I had found this in my old picture album as well , titled “Nice!” . So why did i title this nice ? you would have to ask that to my 18 yr old self .
My first Nintendo DS . i remember playing this alot !
Ranchi, cousins place in India
Another picture from India. GOA … every time i think of GOA .. i think of the time when a restaurant owner had invited me and my family for dinner. I was super happy that this lady that i don’t even know.. invited us for free dinner. But my grand mother kept saying something about not to keep on eating ? because we are not even paying for it. Never the less i did enjoy those cooked crabs..
Another memorable moment from GOA , kept walking down the beach with family to eat dinner somewhere out. Finally reached a restaurant. Had to be the longest beach walk i had ever taken in my life. But the food there was sooo good but also super spicy , so spicy that i had runny nose. Till this day , i still have runny nose when eating spicy food…. never cured..
Group picture taken with me and my brother and friends at anime exhibition ” Anime North ” . Pretty sure it was 2006 ..
The cat pictures above, i am not sure why i had these saved in my album. I want to question my interest of my past self.
picture of my brother with a catcus. the catcus is from a popular game called final fantasy.
sitting down and playing cards i guess..
Last picture i want to show is actually a small article i had written titled” strange feeling ” in March 6, 2011 at 10:31 am. What amazed me , of what i had written during that time and what i had written about. Amazing that i found it … because i had actually forgotten about this article … If the picture is too blurry to read, i will copy and paste below the image, the text i had written during that time.
Strange Feeling.
i just accidentally ran into a old site i used to use..
and i read my previous comments about my Japanese language improvements. It felt strange …to read about my past knowledge of the language and to see how far i have come. I am just gonna copy n paste those messages here. So that maybe one day i can remind myself of my improvements , if i forget about it…
If you understand Japanese .. you’ll notice what i mean..

February and still cold…
24 FebYes, Its February and still cold here in Ogoori, Fukuoka. But outdoor, the trees here are just getting more and more colorful. This month has been quite a adventure for me. Events after events, Few days ago i went with some school friends to a place called Kurume /久留米.
Its about 2 stations away by train from where i live. Apparently around this time, you start to see plum blossom. I wasn’t exactly sure what this plum blossom was about, so i had to go see myself. On my journey to this plum blossom location, i went to a Indian restaurant. I was very satisfied with the food there, because it was spicy and good. Usually indian food in japan has to accommodate to Japanese taste, which is sweet. I also had a small chat with the one of the cooks there , who’s from Sirlanka. Its funny, because we never exchanged conversation in english, but rather in japanese. It was kind of funny, to just have a conversation with a non japanese person in japanese. I think he spoke english though. Anyways, that’s probably 2nd time i had real authentic indian food in japan. The first time i had something puri with potatoes , it was made nepalese students from my class for a school event. Me and other classmates decided to make Canadian Poutine.
Alright so here are the pictures from this month so far .
First is Plum blossom in Kurume.
2nd set of photo’s has to do with sea food, round1 and Wonderland in japan. By the wonderland in japan, is actually a gambling place or known as pachinco / slot machines. Just in case you are wondering, i didnt go there , i just found it amusing to see another wonderland on the other side of the world. As for the sea food and round 1, I was invited by a Bar owner and the staff members there. One of my friend , works at his bar too. So at times, i go there to talk with them. I am still not so fond of drinking but i do like the bar owners special dish called, Frankenstien. Theres two versions , one extremely spicy .. which a normal go screaming if he/she or eats it. And the other version , sweet taste. I of-course love the spicy version. The first time i ate it, i had tears from eyes bc of how spicy it was , but it was too good to stop eating. Anyways , here are the 2nd set of photo’s. The big guy is the Bar owner and i did end up going to Round1 a second time and spending all night with friends there.
The same bar owner, invited me to another event. One of his friends was having a small dinner get together. So he asked me and my friend to come join them. The food is like Chinese hot Pot. Where there’s a boiling soup, and you just dump the vegetables and meat and eat on the spot. There’s a very good restaurant for that, here in Fukuoka. Anyways the bar owner had the cutest dog, it licked everything is sight and very energetic.
The last set of photo’s is from random events and places i went to. One of these events were, playing scrabble and I also learned a new English word known as Slooping. Me and another canadian friend ended up winning because of this word. I dont want to explain what this means … but if you are curious, do search the meaning yourself.
I also tried one of those popular photo booths here in japan. It basically changes your facial features such as eyes etc. Usually popular with the girls here in japan.
The other picture is from the Indian restaurant i went to and a Ryokan near the sea side. At the ryokan / Inn i had the most amazing sea food. Ahhh… Fresh raw sea food taste really good. Its expensive, but definitely worth it.
lastly Just last friday, there was a big contest among the school students. Its basically a drama act or scene , which is about 15 mins long and you present in-front of the whole school and teachers. The teachers use this method to scale how much Japanese have you learned, how complex vocabulary and grammar you can use. And from the entire morning classes, my class won first prize. If i get a hold of our group drama/ act video . I will certainly share it on here.
Until then, here’s a picture and i am off to do more studying , for the coming week tests …..
Christmas and new 3D art
31 DecThe pictures below, is pretty much how my Christmas or this month went by. I went to a park with friends to watch Christmas fireworks and illumination lights. On Christmas, a Canadian friend of mine invited me for Christmas dinner. Japanese style Christmas dinner.
There was also some Christmas event that was put together by my school and a local high school. I took part in it , and sang and danced with a group in-front of a live audience. It was fun !
I think living japan, has rubbed of its robot influence on me or made me like it even more than before. I love the arcades here, and in all its robot/ Gundam culture. That i started watching some old school gundam tv series. Which eventually lead me to making my own 3D model.
This model took me about 3 weeks, and my goal was to complete it before New Year starts.
Challenge complete !
My new 3D art for my portfolio .
Oh and Happy New Year !

I Went to Fukuoka’s Balloon festival. Early in the morning at around 7 am hundreds of balloon were up in the air. It was part of a race or something like that. But i didnt get to see it since i arrived a bit later but the balloon festival was still fun , ate lots of food there and it was a nice relaxing day.
I got these new pair of socks from these korean restaraunt owners that i often go to. They went on short trip back to Korea and brought some presents over for me and my friends.
Also today after school , One of the Chinese students in my class invited a few of us over for lunch. They made it so fast and it was really good !
of-course they had my favorite drink … melon soda.

Trip to a famous bridge and japan’s niagara falls
14 OctSo tomorrow my Fall break will officially be over …
But i had a fun and relaxing holiday. During my break, two of my friends invited me to come with them to go sight seeing. We had to take a rental car and go there, ofcourse i sat in the back ..and just slept at times. I woke up at 4 30 am, so ofcourse i was sleepy…plus long car rides..always make me sleepy.
Our first trip was to go to a famous bridge, which is taller than Godzilla. No, i really mean it.. it was stated in the facts when they were comparing how tall the bridge is compared to other tall places in the world.
As scary as it was, just walking over it, it was still a fun experience. Around that area we visited some temple/ shrine and bunch of other places.
Our 2nd trip, we went to the japan’s Niagara falls. The scenery was just amazing..
In other news, there’s some new students that came during the break and are still coming for the new semester/ class’s. Two of the new students will be in my class from what i heard. One from America, the other from Australia.
The famous bridge
Yup, thats how big and long the bridge is. Me and my 2 friends walked back and forth on it.
At this place, you pray for your love life. put in 100yen and pick your love fortune or general fortune and then after you read it, you tie it up.
My friends were quite fascinated with this statue. Don’t know who its suppose to be, but amusing.
The two friends of mine that i went on a trip with. Dusting of the cobwebs..
Guide map for the area we were in
Niagara falls
yup, posing right at the edge of the falls..
Food i ate or just saw while on my trip.
